We're excited to announce the launch of AI Interactions, our new AI-driven tool available in WeVideo Interactivity!
With AI Interactions, educators can automatically generate and customize interactive video questions. In other words — save time lesson planning so that you can spend more time teaching.
AI Interactions is our first step in creating a more efficient and AI-powered experience for users. It's currently available as part of our interactive video toolset.
Read on for the full scoop!
What is an interaction?
For those new to WeVideo's interactive video tools, an interaction is an interactive element — like a multiple-choice question, free response, poll, etc. — that is placed on top of video content.
With these tools, educators have nine different interaction types to choose from and can place as many as they want in a video.
How does AI Interactions work?
AI Interactions uses the transcripts from videos to auto-generate questions aligned with Bloom's Taxonomy. You may generate a variety of question types across all levels of Bloom's.
Note: YouTube recently updated its privacy and compliance policies, no longer allowing users to generate content with AI directly from YouTube videos. However, there are still ways to use AI Interactions with existing YouTube content. See these options here.
How to use AI Interactions in 5 simple steps
Ready to generate your first set of questions? Here's how.
1. Create a new 'Bulb'
Log in to WeVideo and use the top drop-down menu to navigate to Interactivity. Then, click Create new Bulb to create a 'Bulb,' or interactive video.
2. Select your video
Select your video.
3. Generate interactions
Now it's time to generate interactions for your video. Choose the levels of Bloom's Taxonomy that you'd like to address. Then, select the point(s) in your video where you'd like to generate interactions.
Selecting "Specific time" will auto-generate a single interactive question at the designated point in your video, whereas "Entire video" will auto-generate a batch of interactive questions across the length of the video.
4. Review and customize
Once your questions are generated, you can review and modify each, as desired.
Use the three stacked dots to open up a host of customization options, including the ability to edit questions, assign point values, and change the location of your interactions.
Note that if you edit a question, the magenta box around it will disappear so that you know which have been entirely generated by AI versus edited by yourself or others.
Once you're all set, click Review to finalize and save your video.
5. Assign to your class(es)
From your content library, click on the three stacked dots to assign your video to WeVideo classes. And that's a wrap! Your first auto-generated video assignment is complete.
Frequently asked questions
As we move forward with this beta release, we've rounded up a few timely FAQs. Take a look.
1. What is WeVideo Interactivity?
WeVideo's interactive tools launched last year and represents an evolution of our flagship multimedia creation tools. Standard video offers basic interactions — viewers can stop content, pause, or press play to continue — but interactive videos take things to the next level. They allow you to include clickable information in your content, embed question sets, scope and sequence video lessons, and get real-time viewer/learner data.
If your school or district is not yet using WeVideo's interactivity tools, encourage your account administrator to get in touch with us to explore pricing options.
2. How does AI Interactions fit into WeVideo's larger commitment to AI-powered tools?
As mentioned earlier, we're excited to incorporate AI into our platform and make the user experience as efficient as possible. AI Interactions is a (big!) first step, with more innovation on the way. Stay tuned.
3. Where can I leave feedback about AI Interactions?
We'd love to hear your thoughts on AI Interactions, as well as any ideas you have for future releases. Access the Product Feedback Portal directly from the Help tab (question mark icon) in WeVideo, and leave feedback on what’s working, what’s not, and what you’d still like to see. We appreciate it!
